JÁVEA/XÀBIA is a town that has managed to combine growth and development with the conservation and preservation of nature and its beautiful and spectacular landscape. It is located on the North coast of the province of Alicante, in the comarca of Marina Alta. It has a population of 29.923 inhabitants, of whom a 53.1% is of foreign nationality.

1.-The old town

North to the beach there's a channel for small and medium-sized boats to access the sea. The beach is large and very wide. The water is very undeep and quiet, thanks to its location in a protected bay. Bordered by a lovely promenade, where one can sit quietly in one of the many and varied cafés or restaurants and be able to monitor the children. Spain is usually very family-oriented and families can be much more relaxed about their children.
This is a place where you can enjoy the Spanish cuisine: tapas, paella, delicious fish, as well as a great selection of international food.
The beach of el Arenal is the area of apartments and townhouses of different qualities and prices, luxurious penthouses with wonderful views to the sea, family apartments with large terraces or gardens, ideal for vacation or year round living. We can also find a variety of shops, bars and restaurants, nightclubs, pubs etc.
During the summer nights at the waterfront stalls selling a variety of handmade crafts are installed. Many of the bars have live music and there are several clubs.
Arenal beach is annually awarded with blue beach flag for clean beaches.
An emblematic point of Javea is El Montgó summit, a remarkable landmark of the region, more than 750 meters high. Montgó often serves as a parapet of storms that come from the north in winter.
Javea has a privileged climate; according to a scientific study by the 1990s, it was considered as the world's second best microclimate, and it's true: you can enjoy a good temperature all year round with an average that ranges from the 18 degrees to the 24 degrees.
Javea has a varied leisure. There are many cafés and terraces at the seafront and in the Arenal, and "pubs", clubs, go karts, cinemas, etc.
In the cultural field there's a varied program managed by the City Council: workshops, lectures, musical performances, etc.
Within the leisure, we could highlight the sports activities that can be done in Javea, especially those related to the sea and the mountains. A good choice are excursions with a motorboat (rental Arenal service) or with the jet skis, (service of rent in the Montañar).
